Funeral service for Mary Frissell Evans of Eldon will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the family home of Elmwood in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Harvel R. Sanders will officiate, with interment in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call at Elmwood after 5 p.m. today.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Evans, 75, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 1991, at Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City.

She was born April 8, 1916, in Douglas, Ariz., daughter of Patrick and Rebecca Houck Frissell. She was a granddaughter of Louis and Mary Houck of Cape Girardeau. She married Robert C. Evans June 6, 1942, in Fort Riley, Kan.

The Evans moved to Eldon in 1951 from Cape Girardeau, when they purchased the Ford Agency there. In 1958 they assumed management of the Bank of Eldon.

She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Jefferson City; organized and was past president of Cape Girardeau Garden Club, Eldon Garden Club and Arrowhead Garden Club. She was a 50-year member of Ninagua Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution, member of Ninety Niners women's pilots organization, and life master garden club judge.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Robert C. Evans Jr. of Jefferson City, William G. Evans of St. Louis, Patrick F. Evans of Cape Girardeau, Louis F. Evans of Scott City; a daughter, Mary E. Evans of Cape Girardeau, and 16 grandchildren.
