Mary J. Farrow-Dix, 59, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, at the home of her sister in Jackson.

She was born Aug. 6, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Nelson C. and Emma Sparkman Farrow. She and Dale A. Dix were married Oct. 29, 1967, at Irondale, Mo.

Mary was a 1965 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She resided in Florida nearly 30 years and was employed 15 years at Bahaia Oaks Assisted Living in Sarasota.

Loving survivors include her dearest companion, Dale Dix of Thonotosassa, Fla.; her father, Nelson Farrow of Jackson; two sisters, Barb (Gary) Bruce of Jackson and Linda Farrow of Jackson; a brother, Steven (Rose) Farrow of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Tracy McCain and Brandi Farrow, both of Cape Girardeau; two nephews, Greg Jennings of Gentry, Ark., and Roy Jennings of Jackson; and eight great-nieces and nephews, Tyler, Mollie, Rachel, Lane, Dillon, Kyleigh, Krista and Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Farrow; a sister, Gloria Rahkopf; and former father and mother-in-law, Everett and Nina Dix.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice.
