MARY EVELYN STOKELY

PERRYVILLE -- Mary Evelyn Stokely, 89, of Perryville, died Friday, April 16, 1993, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood, Mo.

She was born Feb. 25, 1904, at Perry County, daughter of Pious L. and Fanny O'Mare Hagan.

She was married to Russell A. Stokely, Jan. 21, 1922. He died in October 1972.

Survivors include five daughters, Maralean Cooksey of Villa Ridge, Mo., Norma Collins of Perryville, June Wages of Patton, Mo., Laura Corse of Crosstown, Mo., Lena Posey of Deltona, Fla.; a son, Russell Stokely of Perryville; a brother, Edward Hagan of St. Louis; 20 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter and a son.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Saline Baptist Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Alvin Matthews and the Rev. Ed Francis officiating.

Burial will follow in Minnith Cemetery in Minnith, Mo.
