Mary Ellen Kenkel, 69, of Jackson died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at her home.
She was born March 10, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, to Arnold C. and Anna Schuck Brockmire.
Mary had worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau, and did baby-sitting for family and friends. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Survivors include two sons, Michael James (Carolyn Sue) Allison of Millersville and Harold Allison of Huntsville, Ala.; four daughters, Althea Rae Allison of Huntsville, Michelle Eddleman and Sherry Kenkel of Jackson and Melissa Kenkel of Perryville, Mo.; two brothers, Arnold Brockmire of Littleton, Colo., and Lee Brockmire of Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Sandy Holt of Louisville; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. John Harth officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to breast cancer research.
