Mary E. Burnette, 80, 2326 Belleridge, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 1995, at the Lutheran Home. She was born May 5, 1915, in Higoon, the daughter of Luke and Bertha Williams White. Mary E. Burnette, 80, 2326 Belleridge, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 1995, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born May 5, 1915, in Higoon, the daughter of Luke and Bertha Williams White. She married Henry Burnette on March 5, 1942, in Farmington.

Burnette was a cashier in the family business, Burnette Meat Market, for 10 years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday School teacher and head of the children's department for many years. She volunteered for the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and the Easter Seal Society.

Survivors include her husband; six sons, Henry L. and Larry D. Burnette of Cape Girardeau, Terry L. Burnette of Jackson, Roy E. Bauer of Rising Fawn, Ga., Fred E. Bauer of Tennessee, and Lloyd Bauer of Kankakee, Ill.; four daughters, Rita Shannon of Osage Beach, Shirley Gilbert of St. Louis, Diane E. Decker of Jerseyville, Ill., and Dottie Ludwig of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Verna Roseberry of Fredericktown; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Greg Dowd, the Rev. Bill Ellis and the Rev. C.E. Fleshman will officiate, and entombment will follow in the Cape County Mausoleum.
