SCOTT CITY -- Mary Ellen Isabelle Biggs, 83, of Scott City, died Wednesday, May 15, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 7, 1907, in Tacoma, Wash., daughter of Orin Lindel and Laura Moreland Brock. She married William Marion Biggs in June 1922 in Cairo, Ill. He died in 1980.
Biggs was a retired inspector at Ely Walker here.
Survivors include three sons, James Biggs of Jefferson City, Everett Biggs of Scott City, Robert Biggs of Kankakee, Ill.; four daughters, Laura Sturm, Edna Ramsey and Josephine Gray of Scott City, Shirley Kinder of House Springs; a brother, Wayne Brock of Blue Springs; five sisters, Inez Owens and Stella Green of Scott City, Winifred Littlepage of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Ora Mosley of Creole Springs, Ill., Azalee Benson of Gulfport, Miss.; 42 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sons, a daughter, four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Robert Smithey will officiate, with burial in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
