Mary Crites

Mary Lou Crites, 80, of Jackson died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Dec. 14, 1938, in Jackson to August and Emma Long Ahrens.

She and Norman Crites were married Dec. 27, 1957, at Jackson.

Mary was an avid quilter and loved doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her daughters, Sarah Allen and Betty Crites, both of Jackson; son, Glen Crites of Jackson; sisters, Virginia Girard of Oak Ridge and Inez Hobeck of Jackson; brother, Robert Ahrens of Friedheim; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will follow at noon Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Sargent's Chapel Cemetery in Daisy.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
