PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Mary Margaret "Marge" Carron, 80, of Perryville died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.
She was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Perryville, daughter of Edward and Helen Cissell Hayden. She and Chauncey C. Carron were married June 4, 1955.
Marge was a very loving and much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1951, and from De Paul Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She worked at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
In 1955 she married and moved to St. Louis with her husband who was attending St. Louis University Dental School. She then worked at St. Anthony's Hospital. Upon her husband's graduation from dental school, she moved back to Perryville where she raised six children. She was a part-time volunteer school nurse at St. Vincent schools many years.
She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, serving as renew coordinator, sang in the choir, and was co-chairman of the parish picnic dumpling committee. Later in life she was active with the Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Marge enjoyed playing golf and cards with her husband, family and many friends. She also enjoyed needlework, bird watching and following her grandchildren's activities. She will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her husband; three sons and three daughters, Dr. Steve and Melinda Carron of Perryville, Jeanne and Dr. Howard Place of Webster Groves, Missouri, Janet and Russell Loida of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Laurie and Daniel Weber of Seattle, Michael and Susan Carron of Des Peres, Missouri, and Patrick and Kathy Carron of Perryville; three sisters, Geraldine Wingerter of Chester, Illinois, Barbara LeCompte of St. Louis and Deloris Monier of Perryville; a brother, Norman Hayden of Cape Girardeau; 22 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth L. Hayden.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The parish wake will be at 7:30 p.m. today. The rosary will be said at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to St. Vincent Schools Endowment Fund.
