Mary Evelyn Carroll, 71, of Scott City died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Commerce, Missouri, to Edward F. and Aleene Hockersmith Ellinger.
Mary was a housekeeper at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include three sons, Rodney (Vicki) Carroll and Rusty (Paula) Carroll of Scott City and Scott (Becky) Carroll of Benton, Missouri; a brother, Frank (Donna) Ellinger of Scott City; a sister, Jane (Bill) McMillan of Scott City; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randy Carroll.
Mary never met a stranger and was blessed with the gift of gab.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
