CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Mary Loretta Burton, 69, of Chaffee, formerly of Morley, Mo., died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born Jan. 16, 1935, at Perkins, Mo., daughter of Chester and Zettie Welch Edwards. She and Hubert Scott Burton were married Sept. 1, 1950, and he died March 1, 1995.
Burton was a machine operator with the Florsheim Shoe Company in Chaffee, and she retired as a machine operator from the Oran Hat Factory in Oran, Mo.
Survivors include two sons, Hubert Burton of Chaffee and Stevie Burton of Morley; four daughters, Carolyn Coram, Linda Scott and Lorie Daniels, all of Lowndes, Mo., and Debbie Essner of Jackson; two sisters, Elsie Bloomer of Flint, Mich., and Helen Backues of Ellisville, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, a grandson and a great-grandson.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Don Russell officitating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
