Mary Browne

Mary Evelyn Browne, 72, of Scott City died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Aug. 6, 1930, at Blytheville, Ark., daughter of Frank and Lula Gillam Cruse. She and Jerome Dent Browne were married April 11, 1953, at Desloge, Mo.

Browne was the owner of Browne Upholstery Shop in Scott City. She retired in 1993. Browne was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband; a son, E.J. Browne of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Kathy Gray of Scott City; two brothers, Henry Cruse of Cape Girardeau and Tom Cruse of Leadwood, Mo.; a sister, Lois Skaggs of Park Hills, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
