Mary Berry

Mary Alice Rhodes Berry, 92, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Friday, July 17, 2015, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Marquand, Missouri, to David Ross and Bessie Lelia Smith Rhodes. Her husband, David Parker Berry, passed away in 2005.

Mary was active in Eastern Star, Salvation Army and was a past president of the Mental Health Board.

Survivors include two sisters, Betty Wheeler of Lakewood, California, and Melva Hageman of St. Louis; two cousins, Olive Keller and Carl Armstrong of Cape Girardeau; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and seven siblings, Ethel Smagala, Grace McGinnity, Gene Rhodes, Mildred Sullivan, William Rhodes, Charles Rhodes and Harold Rhodes.

The family will have a private memorial service in Cape Girardeau in August.
