SIKESTON -- Mary Anne Hahs, 67, of Sikeston, died at her home Sunday, May 10, 1992. She was born May 12, 1924, at Joiner, Ark., daughter of William Wesley and Katherine Freeman Wellons Lankford. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston, where she was employed as the church secretary for 13 years...

SIKESTON -- Mary Anne Hahs, 67, of Sikeston, died at her home Sunday, May 10, 1992.

She was born May 12, 1924, at Joiner, Ark., daughter of William Wesley and Katherine Freeman Wellons Lankford.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston, where she was employed as the church secretary for 13 years.

She was also a member of the church choir, the Women's Missionary Union and the King's Daughters. She was a volunteer at the Delta Community Hospital and was past president of the Sikeston Junior Women's Club.

She was a graduate of Sikeston High School and was the Cayenne of the Red Peppers.

She married William A. Hahs on Sept. 28, 1943 at Sikeston. He survives of the home.

Other survivors are two sons, Craig Hahs and David Hahs, both of Sikeston; one daughter, Kate Hahs Biller of Pine, Colo.; one brother, Walter W. Lankford of Memphis; one sister, Freda Conley of Sikeston; and eight grandchildren.

One infant son and one infant daughter preceded her in death.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Guffie officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
