Mary Ann Proffer, 87, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022.
Born to the late Imogene and William Hayden in Sikeston, Missouri, Mary Ann graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in education. She worked as a librarian for the Cape Girardeau school system.
Known as a gracious hostess and loyal friend, Mary Ann and her husband, Bill, enjoyed entertaining. Playing bridge, visiting the beach, or dinner parties, Mary Ann was often surrounded by friends old and new.
She will be remembered for her devotion, wisdom and humor.
Mary Ann will be missed by her daughter, Stephanie (Jeff) Jimes; niece, Debbie (Jim) Miller; nephew, David (Nancee) Hayden; other well-loved extended family members; as well as her many friends.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Proffer; and brother, Gene Hayden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in honor of Mary Ann to the charity of your choice.
The family will host a celebration of life from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village.
