Marvin William Schrader, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 3, 1996, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1913, at Dutchtown, son of Albert and Magdalene Keller Schrader.

He married Lillian E. Loos July 23,, 1938, at Gordonville. She died in 1988.

He was a graduate of College High School here in 1931. and had been a self-employed carpenter and later had founded Birk & Schrader Construction Co. He retired in 1980.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the church's Men's Club. He was a member of Parent-Teachers at Trinity Lutheran School. He was a member of the board of trustees at the church, and a member of the board of education at the church and the church council.

He was a volunteer of the St. Francis Medical Center auxiliary and had more than 3,000 hours service.

Survivors are a son, Gerald Schrader of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Mary Ann Schmand, of Bartlett, Tenn.; a brother, Eugene W. Schrader of Creve Couer; two sisters, Wilma Grossheider of Gordonville and Alberta Loos of Cape Girardeau; and a granddaughter.

Service will be held at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. David V. Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 3 to 8 p.m.
