BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Marvin Smith of Bloomfield will be held at 1 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Hank Foster officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Smith, 70, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 17, 1924, in Bloomfield, son of Amos and Daphne Hudgens Smith.
Smith was a general contractor. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, member and past master of Bloomfield Lodge 153 AF&AM. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Mike Smith, a daughter, Marla Swindell, a sister, Willene Matthews, all of Bloomfield, and six grandchildren.
