MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Marvin E. McElvain, 72, of Marble Hill died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 22, 1936, in Glenallen, Mo., son of Jess Edward and Ella Mae Kirkpatrick McElvain. He and Peggy Green were married Jan. 7, 1961.
McElvain retired from Lenco as a machine operator.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kevin and David McElvain of Marble Hill; a brother, Lowell McElvain of Fredericktown, Mo.; three sisters, Norma Lee McDaniel and Ruth Ann Flaherty of Fredericktown, Ruby Francis of Farmington, Mo.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and an infant sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Leslie officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery near Sedgewickville, Mo.
