TAMMS, Ill. -- Marvin Elwood Kerr, 91, of Tamms died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at his home. He was born Feb. 27, 1910, in Elco, Ill., son of Joseph Robert and Myrtle West Kerr. TAMMS, Ill. -- Marvin Elwood Kerr, 91, of Tamms died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at his home.

He was born Feb. 27, 1910, in Elco, Ill., son of Joseph Robert and Myrtle West Kerr. He married the former Juanita Grace McRavern.

Kerr owned Kerr's Place in Elco 41 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge at Anna, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Shirley Cauble of Marion, Ill., Sheila Swinburne of Springfield, Ill., Shelby Sims of Tamms; two sons, Joe Kerr of Elco, Tim Kerr of Jacksonville, Fla.; a half brother, Alan Kerr of Pulaski, Ill.; four half sisters, Jane Sawyer of Springfield, Mo., Joan Dohm of Turlock, Calif., Dixie Baldwin of Bremerton, Wash., Doris Haynes of Wilmington, Del.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
