Marvin H. Best Jr., 70, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at his home.

He was born June 21, 1953, in Cape Girardeau to Marvin H. Sr. and Verna E. Ruesler Best. He and Carolyn Huffman were married Dec. 6, 1975, at Christ Evangelical Church.

Marvin was a graduate of Jackson High School.

He was parts manager at Bangert Ford in Jackson from 1969 to 1976. He then went into full-time farming.

He was a faithful church member of Christ Evangelical Church.

Marvin loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Best of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Bob Best and Terry (Mindy) Best of Cape Girardeau; sister, Bonnie (Brian) Stahlman of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons, Cody Lynn Best, Andrew James Best and Toby Lane Best; two nieces, Jennifer (Pat) Connors and Ashley (Fletcher) Hoague; and great-niece, Ellen Connors.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Christ Evangelical Church in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the church, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery at a later time.

Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Evangelical Church, 33 S. Ellis St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
