Martha Louise Barnard, 90, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 6, 1912, in Fornfelt, Mo., daughter of James and Laura Alice Freeman Gill. She and Fred M. Barnard were married Sept. 15, 1940, at St. Louis. He died Dec. 15, 1972.
Barnard retired in 1990 after employment as a case worker for DFS and a food service manager at Dearmont Cafeteria at Southeast Missouri State University. She was a member of Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Fred M. Barnard and John G. Barnard, both of Jackson; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg St. Chapel. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Old St. Vincent Catholic Church, with Rev. Scott Sunnenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
