GLEN ALLEN, Mo. -- Martha Louise Barker, age 80, of Glen Allen went to her heavenly rest Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, from Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 7, 1940, on Woolverton Mountain, Arkansas, to Thurman Otis and Rosie Chew Thompson.
She was a member of the Burfordville Baptist Church and a retired real estate agent.
Martha is survived by a son, Donald W. (Delilah) Barker of Evergreen, Colorado; and daughter, Patti (Jeff) Deck of Glen Allen. She is also survived by Patti and Jeff's five sons, Josh, Jaret, Austin, Jeremy and Jaiden, all of Missouri; three grandchildren she raised after the death of their parents, Danielle Shaw of Jackson, Carly (Dale) Bradley and Nick Hurst (fiancee Cheyenne) of Marble Hill, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wynona Buxton of Weed, California.
She was preceded in death by a son, David W. Barker; daughter, Donna Jean Hurst; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Ruth Barker and Linda Hebert; and brothers-in-law, Bob Valentine and Clinton D. Barker.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the time of service today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Marvin Wormington officiating. Burial will follow in the Barker Cemetery in Glen Allen.
