Marshall Dean Riley gained his angel wings, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, surrounded by family and friends, at Southeast Hospital.
Dean was born Aug. 2, 1943, son to Marshall Riley and Geraldine Stringfellow. He and Karen Bragg were married on June 29, 1963, in Cape Girardeau.
Dean enjoyed being outside, visiting with neighbors and barbecuing. He loved spending time with his granddaughter and his great-grandsons.
Dean was a painter by trade and worked for Paramount Painting Co. for many years and then retired from Southeast Missouri State University.
Loving survivors include his wife of 56 years and daughters, Kathy Riley Jobe (Todd Lucas) and Tina Riley (Kevin Brown), all of Cape Girardeau; granddaughter, Casey Sue Jobe (Aaron Shell) and great-grandsons, Connor Shell and namesake Raiden Paul Dean Shell; half brothers, Don (Martha) Riley and David Riley; and stepmother, Shirley Riley.
Dean was preceded in death by his loving grandparents who raised him, Arthur and Della Smith of Whitewater; biological father, Marshall Riley; and biological mother, Geraldine Stringfellow.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
