Marsha Darlene Dohogne, 77, of Scott City -- a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend -- died Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and lived a life filled with love and compassion.

Marsha was known for being a loving wife, and she never met a stranger. Her warm heart touched the lives of many people she encountered throughout her lifetime. She had an infectious spirit that brought joy to those around her.

The loss felt by Marsha's passing extends beyond just those closest to her, but reaches into the hearts of all who knew this remarkable woman. Her absence leaves an indelible void that cannot be easily filled. Those who mourn Marsha's passing are also celebrating the beautiful life she led and the love she shared with so many others during it. May they find solace in knowing that she has left behind a lasting impact on each person fortunate enough to have known her.

Marsha's legacy lives on through her cherished family. Survivors include her children, Angela (Tony) LaForest of Jackson, Pamela (Lance) Buckingham of Scott City, Mark (Shelly) Dohogne of Scott City, Liz Dohogne of Cape Girardeau and Kelsey Roth of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Hunter and Shelton Hartline of Dexter, Robert and Preston Beauchamp of Jackson, Gracie LaForest (Jack Cross) of Jackson, Brittany (Brent) McGuire of Jackson and Brooke (Harley) Scherer of Oran; and six great-grandchildren, Cooper, Reagan and Brock McGuire, Emersyn and Isla Scherer and Ada Lou Cross. She is also survived by two sisters, Debbie (Larry) Kern of Cape Girardeau and Kim (Greg) Shambo of Scott City.

In addition to leaving behind countless friends who will miss her dearly, Marsha is reunited in death with her husband, Butch Dohogne, after 51 years together. She was also preceded by her parents, James and Florence Calhoun; brother James Calhoun Jr.; and grandson, Tyler LaForest.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 25, at the funeral home, with Pastor Kim Shambo officiating. Burial will follow at Lightener Cemetery in Scott City.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
