Mark Thomas Parsons, 47, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010.
He was born Nov. 6, 1963, in Cape Girardeau, to Dr. Leroy Parsons and Glenda Parsons Hayden. He and Kathy Killian were married Aug. 30, 1991, at Perryville, Mo.
He was a 1982 graduate of Central High School, and a 1986 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He was an Eagle Scout, former business owner of Certified Tenants Services, and member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
Mark had a passion for "junking" or treasure hunting and was always looking for a treasure. His true treasures were his two sons, whom he loved very much. Through the years they had spent countless hours outdoors hiking, going to creeks, metal detecting and arrowhead hunting. He will be missed by all of us, but we know he is in a better place now.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Parsons; two sons, Dustin and William Parsons; his mother, Glenda Parsons Hayden, all of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Mike (Kristi) Parsons of Wildwood, Mo., David (Natalie) Parsons of California, Steve (Monica) Parsons of Cape Girardeau, and John (Reem) Parsons of Toronto.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Leroy Parsons.
A private memorial service will be held.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Parsons Children's Fund through Capaha Bank in Cape Girardeau.
Online condolences may be made at www.fordandsonsfuneralhome.com.
