She started a public relations company serving clients in the Kansas City and Maryville, Missouri, areas. During this time, she served on the advisory board for the Missouri Division of Youth Services. After moving to Cape Girardeau in 1994, Marge was named director of the Missouri Mentoring Partnership, covering several Southeast Missouri counties, and was recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor for her efforts in preparing youths and at-risk young adults for meaningful jobs. She ended her career as director of volunteer services at Southeast Hospital.
