Marjorie Mae Johnson, 73, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau due to complications from COVID, surrounded by her family.

Margie, as she was called by her friends and family, was born July 5, 1947. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to John G. and Allie Wilsie Olivent Carr. She resided in St. Petersburg, Florida; Eufala, Alabama; Germany; Bainbridge, Georgia; Nashville, Tennessee; Jackson and Cape Girardeau.

Margie was a force to be reckoned with. If something needed doing, she got it done. She loved her family fiercely. She lived a life full of travel, change, experiences, good cooking and leadership. She spent time as a block mason, a restaurant owner, an adoptive mother, a swim mom and, most recently, as "Mama Bear" at the facility where she resided. To say she was loved by all is an understatement. Her presence here on Earth will be hugely missed, until her family sees her again in Heaven.
