Marilyn Arlette Sharp, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Heartland Care and Rehab.
She was born June 24, 1930, in Middletown, Ohio, daughter of Herschel and Nervesta Powell Watson. She and Kenneth David Sharp were married Nov. 8, 1952, in Reno, Nev. He died Dec. 20, 1991.
Mrs. Sharp was a corps officer with the Salvation Army in Cape Girardeau from 1973 to 1975. She assisted her husband with pastoral duties, and spent her entire life with the Salvation Army.
She did volunteer work at the Salvation Army, and worked with VIP Industries in Piedmont, Mo., in the 1980s. She was a member of Cape Bible Chapel.
Survivors include three sons, John Sharp and wife Brenda of Cape Girardeau, Kevin Sharp and wife Kiersten of Cape Girardeau, Ralph Sharp and wife Judy of Jackson; six grandchildren, McKena Sharp and Jakob Sharp of Cape Girardeau, Todd Kafka of El Paso, Texas, Jennifer West of St. Louis, Samantha Ruebel of Cape Girardeau, and Erynne Sharp of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dan Greene officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
