Marilyn Prill, 89, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born July 14, 1924, in Brunswick, Mo., to William Arthur and Nettie Irene Schaefer Hackward. Her parents moved to Webster Groves, Mo., where she grew up and graduated from Webster Groves High School. Marilyn and Max K. Prill were married Nov. 4, 1944, in Webster Groves. He died Sept. 25, 2006.
Marilyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. She was an active member of PEO Sisterhood Chapter DJ more than 60 years. She held every office in the chapter and was Missouri state chapter president from June 1982 to June 1983.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Howell of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a sister, Virginia Moler of Morton, Ill.; four grandchildren Kenneth Trent (Jessi) Howell of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Wayde (Raema) Howell of O'Fallon, Mo., Sherri Uren of Jackson and Michelle Wingo of St. Louis; a son-in-law, Kirk Williams of Jackson; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; a daughter, Marybeth Williams; and a son-in-law, Ken Howell.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Dr. Grant F.C. Gillard officiating. Burial will be private in Jackson City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Marybeth Williams Scholarship Fund at Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., or to First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.
