McCLURE, Ill. -- Marilyn D. Nall, 82, of McClure passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 21, 1936, in Havana, Illinois, to Herman and Ida Haage. She married Wilmer Nall on Dec. 28, 1961, at Havana Church of Christ.

Marilyn attended elementary school in Havana and graduated high school there in 1954. She worked for Franklin Life Insurance Co. in Springfield, Illinois, as well as Havana National Bank in Havana.

As a youth, she loved roller skating. In later years, her hobby was cross stitch embroidery. She made many baby blankets as gifts.

She and Wilmer were great fans of country music. They attended the Grand Ole Opry on their honeymoon. They enjoyed camping and did so for 17 years. They camped from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. They enjoyed more than 30 trips to Branson, Missouri, to pursue their love of country music. For their 50th wedding anniversary, they enjoyed a trip to England and Ireland.

Marilyn was a devoted member of Mount Auburn Christian Church and loved her church family. She served in many areas including vacation bible school, Sunday school teacher, and she led the Tuesday morning ladies bible study for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Wilmer Nall of McClure; two daughters, Tracey (Wes) Tripp of Cape Girardeau and Tricia (John) Josephs of Cypress, Texas; three grandchildren, Trevor Dunn of St. Louis, Halie (Tim) Simmons of Evansville, Indiana, and Colby Brennan of Cypress; two great-grandchildren, Reid and Aubrey Simmons of Evansville; brother, Ed (Cathy) Haage of Havana; two brothers-in-law, Ernest J. (Charlene) Nall of Manito, Illinois, and Michael (Arlene) Nall of The Villages, Florida; sister-in-law, Lois French of Bath, Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hilda Stockham and Joyce Guernsey; and brother, Herman Haage Jr.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Mount Auburn Christian Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Casey Elmore officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Mason County, Illinois, with the Rev Mike Hopps officiating.

Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's honor to Mount Auburn Christian Church building fund and will be accepted at the funeral home or church.
