Marilyn L. Franklin, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born June 8, 1928, in Moberly, Mo., to Emmett and Lula Lynch Porter. She and Raymon L. Franklin were married Jan. 26, 1948, at Moberly. Franklin was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church and was truly a wonderful Christian woman who was loved dearly by her family...

Marilyn L. Franklin, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 8, 1928, in Moberly, Mo., to Emmett and Lula Lynch Porter. She and Raymon L. Franklin were married Jan. 26, 1948, at Moberly.

Franklin was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church and was truly a wonderful Christian woman who was loved dearly by her family.

Survivors include her husband, Raymon L. Franklin of Cape Girardeau; two sons, William L. Franklin of Cape Girardeau, Philip L. Franklin and wife Pam of Jackson; two daughters, Rayma L. Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau and Vonda Van Gennip and husband Greg of Jackson.

Also six grandchildren, Jeffrey Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Eric Franklin of East Prairie, Mo., Jill Labbee and husband Nic of House Springs, Mo., Jeremy Franklin of Cape Girardeau, Michelle Van Gennip and Garrett Van Gennip of Jackson; two stepgrandchildren, Kelsie Snider and Kaleb Snider of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Emma Labbee and Lucas Labbee of House Springs; and a great-stepgrandchild, Jaiden Purkey of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
