Marilyn Sue Graham Duffey, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center. Marilyn was born May 24, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Charles and Geraldine Graham. She graduated from Bloomfield (Missouri) High School in 1959. She and Ray Duffey were united in marriage on April 6, 1958, in Bloomfield and spent 62 years rarely leaving each other's side until Ray's death Dec. 8, 2020...

Marilyn Sue Graham Duffey, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center. Marilyn was born May 24, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Charles and Geraldine Graham.

She graduated from Bloomfield (Missouri) High School in 1959. She and Ray Duffey were united in marriage on April 6, 1958, in Bloomfield and spent 62 years rarely leaving each other's side until Ray's death Dec. 8, 2020.

Marilyn enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent in the Cape area for over 30 years, winning numerous awards for her sales volume. Her sales career culminated with Realty Executives in Cape. She retired in 2005, so she and Ray could travel and spend time with their grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Timothy Charles Duffey of Cape, and a daughter, Lesa Rene Gilliland of Cape. She also leaves five grandchildren, Alissa Young of Jackson and Brady, Crissy, Blake and Beau Gilliland, all of Cape; and one great-grandson, Levi James Young of Jackson. Marilyn is also survived by a sister, Brenda Graham Johnson of Valrico, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, physicians and staff at Saint Francis Medical Center for the extraordinary care provided Marilyn during her brief illness.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Bryan McAlister will officiate. Interment will be at Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield.
