Marilyn McDowell Bollinger, 87, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Jackson to William Paul and Blanche Irene Morton McDowell. She had five siblings, Virginia, Pauline, Phyllis, Jerry and Harold.

Marilyn attended grade school in Fruitland and was a 1951 graduate of Jackson High School. While growing up, she attended Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Fruitland. She and Harold Lee Bollinger were married Sept. 22, 1954, at the church. Together they attended First Presbyterian Church and New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. They had been married 52 years when Harold passed away Feb. 8, 2007. Marilyn later attended Cape County Cowboy Church in Oak Ridge.

Marilyn worked as a teller at Jackson Exchange Bank, Mercantile Bank and Bank of America.

Loving survivors include a son, David L. Bollinger; grandchildren, Cassandra Kuehn and David M. Bollinger; great-grandchildren, Michael and Allie; sisters-in-law, Vicki (the late Harold) McDowell and JoAnn (the late Jerry) McDowell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Kuehn-Kelley (2016); parents; and siblings, Virginia (Harold) Gremore, Jerry McDowell, Phyllis (George) Williams, Pauline (Roy) Davault and Harold McDowell.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to service time Saturday, Sept. 5, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, where Marilyn will rest next to Harold.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Pleasant Hill Cemetery, the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
