Mariko Koyama Brown, 71 of Cape Girardeau died April 3, 1998 at home. She was born Nov. 13, 1926 in Mie-ken, Japan, daughter of Hironske and Toku Koyama. She married George Brown on September 24, 1958 in Yokohama, Japan. He preceded her in death March 15, 1992.

Mrs. Brown was currently employed at Rust & Martin where she began employment on April 16, 1966. She had taught Oriental Cooking at Cape Vo-Tech School.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Brown Norder and son-in-law, Rodney Norder of Cape Girardeau, Mo. She has one granddaughter, Ali Marie Norder of Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Robert F. Klein, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
