Marie Sebastian, 81, of Jackson passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born April 29, 1925, in Patton, Mo., daughter of "Anthony" Christian and "Maggie" Elizabeth Mouser Seabaugh. She and Norman H. Sebastian were married Jan. 1, 1945, at Tilsit, Mo. He passed away Nov. 16, 2003.
Marie graduated from Jackson High School. In 1955 she and her husband established Sebastian Sales and Service in Jackson, where she was a bookkeeper and in sales. They sold the business in 1980.
She was a member of Cape First in Cape Girardeau, Gideon International Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and a former member of Jackson Senior Citizens Board of Directors. She volunteered at the Jackson Senior Center, Saint Francis Medical Center and Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Janet (David) Wendel of Jackson; three granddaughters, Amy Schaefer of Clarksville, Tenn., Lori (Allan) Owens of Jackson, and Sarah (Kenny) Johnson of Taylorsville Utah; three great-grandchildren, Joshua and Julie Schaefer and Eli Owens.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wayne Sebastian, May 10, 1986; a brother, Elmer Seabaugh; and a sister, Alma Brotherton.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Blake Tiemann officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
