MARIE RHODES

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Funeral service for Marie Rhodes of Jonesboro will be held at 1 p.m. today at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.

Rhodes, 92, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center.

She was born April 23, 1905, in Pulaski County, daughter of George Washington and Izora Eddleman Sowers. She and Ernest M. Rhodes Sr. were married Feb. 10, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He died Jan. 3, 1967.

Rhodes was a member of First Baptist Church and Jonesboro Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a stepson, Ernest Rhodes Jr. of Jonesboro; a stepdaughter, Alline Dollman of Ware; six stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
