ESSEX, Mo. -- Marie Newell, 83, of Essex died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
She was born May 1, 1918, in Piggott, Ark., a daughter of James Newton and Ada Rickman Cobb.
She and Ray Newell were married May 6, 1988, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Survivors include her husband, four sons, Charles Crosno of Chicago, Andrew Crosno of Flint, Mich., Adren Crosno of Zalma, Mo., and Allen Crosno of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Emogene Jerls of Flint, Margaret Freeman of Bell City, Mo., and Shirley Heigle of Mayersville, Miss.; one brother, J.T. Cobb of Rector, Ark.; one sister, Cristola Foushee of Bloomfield, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
