Marie Montgomery

ANNA, Ill. -- Marie D. Montgomery, 99, of Anna died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Union County Hospital.

She was born March 22, 1904, in Dongola, Ill., daughter of Samuel and Susie Hargus Dillow. She and Olen Montgomery were married Dec. 13, 1924. He died Aug. 22, 1983.

Montgomery was a 1921 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. She was a teacher at schools in Dongola, Mount Pleasant and Ware, Ill. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Joe Montgomery of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two sisters, Murchie Hoffner and Jeanette Wuyster of Dongola; a grandson; and two great-grandsons.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and Sunday until service time.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. P.L. Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery at Dongola.
