Marie M. Lange, 92, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, at her home.

She was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Cape Girardeau to the late Herman and Augusta Ahrens Kester. She and Maurice H. Lange were married June 9, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death June 2, 2019.

Marie was employed 40 years at Fred A. Groves Motor Co., now Ford Groves Motor Co., as a bookkeeper/accountant and retired as office manager.

She was an excellent bookkeeper and excelled at record keeping and numbers. She had impeccable handwriting and her ability to manage money was extraordinary.

Marie and Maurice were members of Trinity Lutheran Church for 80 years. She was a member of the Trinity Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Jones of Cape Girardeau; son, John Lange of St. Charles, Missouri; sisters, Georgie Lee Bazzle, Susan Engels and Carolyn Dockins; brothers, Leroy, Eugene, Bobby and Mike Kester; granddaughter, Heather Jones of Cape Girardeau; and great-grandchildren, Luke and Logan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice; an infant great-granddaughter, Jessica; and a brother, Richard Kester.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Pastor Daniel Maske officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
