Marie L. Engelmann, 85, of Jackson died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at the Lutheran Home. She was born Sept. 4, 1918, at Greenville, Mo., daughter of Henry and Lucinda Wilson Daves. She and Fred Engelmann were married Dec. 24, 1938, at Jackson. He died Jan. 4, 1982...

Marie L. Engelmann, 85, of Jackson died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Sept. 4, 1918, at Greenville, Mo., daughter of Henry and Lucinda Wilson Daves. She and Fred Engelmann were married Dec. 24, 1938, at Jackson. He died Jan. 4, 1982.

Marie was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. When she was physically able, she was active in the Ladies Aid. In 1999, she moved to assisted living at the Lutheran Home. She had been in skilled care since last fall.

Loving survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Bob Abernathy of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Linda Engelmann of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren, Dr. Kim Abernathy-Young and husband Monte of Symsonia, Ky., Heather Carey and husband Matt and Derek Engelmann, all of Cape Girardeau, Lisa Warren and husband Jay of North Little Rock, Ark., and Bruce Engelmann and wife Sierra of Springdale, Ark.; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert Engelmann in 1995; an infant son, Carl Engelmann Jr.; 10 brothers; and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Henrichs will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Bus Fund or School Foundation.
