MARIE E. RESSEL

ORAN -- Marie Elizabeth Ressel, 79, of Oran, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1992, at her home.

She was born Oct. 25, 1912, at Charleston, daughter of Henry Bernard and Catherine Bruenderman Duenne. She and Roman John Ressel were married June 5, 1934. He died Aug. 7, 1982.

Ressel was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Sodality.

Survivors include a son, Herman Joe Ressel of Oran; five daughters, Rita Ressel and Marilyn Barge of Oran, Rose Scherer and Romana Hulshof of Benton, Luella Kern of New Hamburg; three brothers, Henry, Herman and De Sales Duenne of Charleston; five sisters, Sister Gertrude Duenne of O'Fallon, Sister Bernardine Duenne of Charleston, Catherine Showmaker and Rosalia Scherer of Cape Girardeau, Monica Dirnberger of New Hamburg; 32 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angel Church. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home at Oran after 3 p.m. today. The rosary will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:30.
