Marie E. Blumenberg, 88, of Whitewater passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 15, 1921, near Allenville, daughter of Henry and Sophie Voss Muster. She and Nelson Blumenberg were married Feb. 26, 1949, in Gordonville. He passed away in July 1964...

Marie E. Blumenberg, 88, of Whitewater passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 15, 1921, near Allenville, daughter of Henry and Sophie Voss Muster. She and Nelson Blumenberg were married Feb. 26, 1949, in Gordonville. He passed away in July 1964.

Marie attended the former Maple Grove School. She worked at the former Ralph Edwards Sports Wear, and from 1975 to 1986 worked in housekeeping at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

Loving survivors include two sons, David (Martha) Blumenberg of Chaffee, and Wesley "Wes" (fiance Betty Dodson) Blumenberg of Whitewater; a sister, Edna Willer of Taylorville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Angela McClanahan of Jackson, Chris Blumenberg of Chaffee, Jamie Welker of Dresden, Tenn.; three stepgrandchildren, Timothy Jones of Fenton, Mo., Debra LaGrand of Chaffee and Jessica Kinder of Fallbrook, Calif.; three great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Gordonville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Cemetery or Zion Methodist Church in Gordonville.
