Margarete Sullivan, 68, of Abilene, Texas, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, while visiting friends and family in Germany. She was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Konigwusterhausen, Germany. She and Richard Sullivan were married July 9, 1960. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Sullivan Jr. of Clovis, N.M., Michael Sullivan of Abilene; a brother; a sister; adopted sisters, Shirley Young of Scott City, Kirsten Bush of Abilene; and a granddaughter...

Margarete Sullivan, 68, of Abilene, Texas, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, while visiting friends and family in Germany.

She was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Konigwusterhausen, Germany. She and Richard Sullivan were married July 9, 1960.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Sullivan Jr. of Clovis, N.M., Michael Sullivan of Abilene; a brother; a sister; adopted sisters, Shirley Young of Scott City, Kirsten Bush of Abilene; and a granddaughter.

She was a member of Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Gamma Sigma Chapter, was active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and volunteered at hospitals in Abilene.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elmwood Funeral Home in Abilene.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene, with the Rev. Robert Bush and Deacon Peter Ballaro officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Garden of Prayer.
