SIKESTON -- Margaret W. Allen, 87, of Sikeston, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born April 28, 1909 in Sugar City, Colo., daughter of Patrick Seymour and Mary Butler Woods Seymour. She was member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a registered nurse. SIKESTON -- Margaret W. Allen, 87, of Sikeston, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born April 28, 1909 in Sugar City, Colo., daughter of Patrick Seymour and Mary Butler Woods Seymour.

She was member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a registered nurse. She was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, and Washington University School of Nursing.

She first married Dr. Charles H. Perry. He preceded her in death. She married Thomas B. Allen Jr. on July 28, 1951. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1987.

She was a charter member of Sigma Theta Tau Honorary Nursing Society, Daughters of the American Revolution and a charter member of the Heartland Writers Guild. She was an honorary member of Southeast Missouri State University Copper Dome Society, President's Council and SEMO Foundation Board.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Perry Wesner of San Antonio, Texas, a stepdaughter, Mimi Smitten of Cape Girardeau; and a step-grand-daughter.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a stepgrandson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Home in Sikeston.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Nathaniel Pyron, officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Cemetery in Columbia, Mo., with the Rev. Sarah Bailey of Columbia Calvary Episcopal Church, officiating.
