FARMINGTON, Mo. — Margaret Ann Snider of Farmington entered into eternal rest Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 80.
She was born at home in Benton, Missouri, July 14, 1942, to the late Nicholas and Mary Schaefer Essner.
Margaret retired in 2012 after 29 years as food service manager for Farmington School District. She attended Doe Run Church of God, where she was involved in the Women's Group. As a military wife, Margaret enjoyed many adventures when Carl was stationed in Texas, Florida and Alaska. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Margaret is survived by her children, Carla (Paul) Will and John Snider; grandchildren, Melissa (Josh) Hauf, Gregory (Melanie) Will, Victoria Snider-Peterson and Andrew (Zach) Snider; great-grandchildren, Conner Hauf, Braden Will, Aliviah Hauf, Anthony Will, Kiley Hauf and McKynlee Will; siblings, Rosemary (Paul) Horrell, Cecilia (Fred) Margrabe, Leo (Linda) Fuller and Jerene Moore; sister-in-law, Corona Essner; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her special felines, Sofie and Daisy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Snider; great-granddaughter, Peighton Elizabeth Peterson; and siblings, Herbert Essner, Raymond Essner, Leon Essner, Patsy Ressel and Sylvia Reinagel.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Cozean Memorial Chapel.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Doe Run Church of God, with Pastor Darlene Williams officiating. Interment will be at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
