Margaret A. Porter, 87, of Millington, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Millington Health Care.
She was born April 14, 1917, at Benton, Mo., daughter of Ben F. and Norma Pauline Tirmenstein Adams. She and William Hess Porter were married Nov. 15, 1939, at Benton. He died Feb. 28, 2002.
Mrs. Porter was a secretary 26 years for Scott County School District. She was a member of Benton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, William David Porter of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Peggy Ann James of Norman, Okla.; a brother, Ben Adams of Cape Girardeau; a grandchild, Shannon Porter of Atoka, Tenn.; and a great-grandchild, Devon Porter.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Benton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jack Martin officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
