Margaret A. "Peggy" Pruett, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at her home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 9, 1938, in New York City, the daughter of Edwin and Margaret Miller Roddy. She and Capt. Burley F. Pruett were married Dec. 2, 1968, in Framingham, Mass.
She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and was active in the Shriners Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She worked as a counselor for Community Caring Council and the Cape Girardeau Police Department and was retired. She volunteered for CHAD.
She is survived by her husband, Capt. Burley F. Pruett of Cape Girardeau; a son, Burley W. "Bill" Pruett II of St. Louis; a brother, James J. Roddy of Bellevue, Wash.; a sister, Patricia (Eugene) Melnick of Bellevue, Wash.; a grandchild, Kiren A. Pruett of Olive Branch, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home on Monday, July 31, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Patrick Nwokoye officiating.
Burial will be at Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
