Margaret Dean McTaggart, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at Heartland Care Rehab Center. She was born April 10, 1910, in St. Louis, daughter of Murray George and Louise Behrens Jones. She and Ernest E. McTaggart were married in June 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He died in 1968...

Margaret Dean McTaggart, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.

She was born April 10, 1910, in St. Louis, daughter of Murray George and Louise Behrens Jones. She and Ernest E. McTaggart were married in June 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He died in 1968.

McTaggart attended Jackson schools and received a bachelor's degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University.

She taught elementary grades in Jackson and St. Louis until 1947. She returned to Jackson in 1968, moved to Kansas City in 1976 and came to Cape Girardeau in November 1998.

McTaggart was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson and Chapter DJ of PEO Sisterhood.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Norma Jones of Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. Grant F.C. Gillard will officiate.
