CAIRO, Ill. -- Private memorial service for Margaret Fitzgerald of Cairo will be held today at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. The Rev. Bill McGhee will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Villa Ridge.
Fitzgerald, 79, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000.
She was born Nov. 29, 1920, at Cairo, daughter of Noonan and Lillie Edwards Bagby. She married Robert W. Fitzgerald, who died in 1984.
Fitzgerald was a waitress at Harper's Restaurant many years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Ann Fitzgerald of Cairo, Pauline Whiteside of Cookeville, Tenn.; two sons, Richard Harrington and Robert Fitzgerald of Cairo; four sisters, Ruby Hagey, Susie Taylor, Bertha Wilson and Mae Fleming, all of Cairo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers.
