SIKESTON -- Margaret Coates, 83, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born Jan. 26, 1916, at Jackson, daughter of Richard Earl and Myrtle Cramer Bowman. She and H.H. Coates were married March 14, 1939, at Deering. He died June 12, 1978.
Coates had been a teacher at Jackson, moved to Sikeston in 1945 and was a geometry teacher at Sikeston High School 40 years.
She was a member of Miner Baptist Church, and was a Pink Lady at Missouri Delta Medical Center 15 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Defino of Brunswick, Ga.; and a sister, Virginia Timberlake of Deer Park, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mitchell Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery at Dogwood.
