CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Margaret Burnett, 91 years old, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.
She was born Dec. 15, 1917, at Jackson, daughter of Herbert and Frieda Gerecke Quade.
She and Joe Burnett were married Oct. 22, 1948. He preceded her in death March 16, 1989.
Margaret and Joe owned and operated the Chaffee Boat Dock concession stand at Lake Tywappity in Chaffee. She worked 41 years as a taper for Buckstein Pants Factory, which later was Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee.
Survivors include a son, Bob Burnett of Belleville, Mich.; four daughters, Betty Mirly, Mary Lizenbee and Sue Sallee, all of Chaffee, and Judy Horton of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two brothers, Norman Quade and Paul Quade of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Naomi Suzuki of Granite City, Ill., Mag Carter of Springfield, Mo., Rose Quade of Dexter, Mo; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and six sisters.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. on Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crown Hospice in Sikeston, Mo., or Cape Girardeau.
